hey had gd pi at welingkar
hey i had my gd pi at welingkar.
gd wasnt all that good,the topics were
1-managers v/s entrepuners
2-disaster mgnt in india-a disaster itself
v had only 5 people in our group and 3 chose the 1st topic.
i dnt understand y but those 3 didnt even talk much,
well it lasted 10 min .
pi was good,panel was good and friendly.there was one old man and a middle age man.
1st the old man started verifying my name ,qualifications,etc,wasnt asked much from the form,
first he asked me my name then school then as i had joined fathers buisness asked me few questions regarding the working ,my role and of course the most obvious question why MBA?.
then was asked if i read any business paper.said economic times and then was asked abt any article in yesterdays paper.
then the other man was sitting silently till then only observing me .
but when he started he stooped after a long time.
he asked me too amny questions,the ans of which i knw (few i didnt).
what is the capital of guj,jharkand,uttarancal,chattisgarh,austarlia,s.africa,
the currency of france.
the govenor of rbi,the fm in 1991,the present fm,the fm b4 him,from which mayawati contest.,who were the other parties,name a few,the head of samjwadi party,who is the chief of the planning commission,draw the price elasticity curve,why does the rupee apperciate,who is the publiser of times of india.
well some i did kw some didnt .
well i guess iwas ans thats y he did ask me so many questions
so student s going to welingkar plz prepare well for pi an update ur general awareness and knowledge.

The topics were:
1) Farmers suicide - reasons & remedies
2) Co-operative v/s Corporate

The 1st topic was chosen. the gd was pretty nice. actually arnd 5 people were just talkin, so later the examiners actually gave the remaining students time to talk. till they could finish, v 5 students didnt get a chance again.

Even my Pi was also good. the examiners didnt actually grill me. they asked me about my project in BMS. since i want to take up HR, they asked me how HR can be useful in today's world & other few questions relating to it. then they asked me how india can make as a superpower. a few questions on extra-curricular activities. basically they made me feel much at ease.

GD PI @ welingkars
Hi all

had my GD today and the topic was
1. ONE can make a difference
2. Campus Placements: turning Institues of learning into glamorous placement agencies.

We were asked to vote and the first topic was selected. GD went cool n had a decent participation from all the people.

PI was also good...juss generic questions were posted.

but one thing is that ppl frm welingkars really friendly and make the candidates feel very comfortable.

GDPI @ JBIMS on 22nd....
we got to choose from 2 topics..
1) hard work Vs smart work
2) core competency Vs multi tasking..

both the topics were great but the majority voted for first topic..

pi was a tough one. my panelists were 2 ladies who took a stress interview of mine... they really screwed me but i was able to keep myself cool!!

well wen v entered v were asked to fill up d form same as ravneet posted....

they one of them was given marks for work-experience...well for me it was infair...a girl whose co was also not listed in nse ..she was given marks whereas wen i showed my documents i was not given d samee as my co too not listed..thats was unfair...

den v entered d GD room..
well there ver 3 panels...well before gdpi started... they told us that every1 shud b given a chance to speak no fish market pls....

GD topic.
1.Business a war.
2.People,police and politician who r the culprit? (discussed).

well gd was really goood.
every1 spoke..& gave almost 4-5 points..
& at last they told an1 would summarise the whole topic...

PI:
there ver 2 panels.
wel pi was ok...but got stuck only when they asked my companys turnover...well wat to say...millions or billion...i dont remmber wat i said...but...make sure u know i million is how much & 1 billion is how much...ghosshh really i stuck out der wat to stay..but something i said..
rest all was ok...the form which ravneet has told u ...be prepared..as the pi will b based on that...

well i thank god ...no CEO of any co was asked..neither any minister name ....well last 2 days i was finding info for all dis...but b prepared...

well i thaught it wont turn out to b a bad as it was on bday..so happy my exp was good..cheers ...best of luck..

Grilling Interview at Jamnalal Bajaj
JAMANALAL BAJAJ:
Topics for gd were:
Should child labour be banned?
Hollywood Vs Bollywood.
Then he asked me reason for success of BILL GATES?
Then he asked first product launched by microsoft? said MS DOS ans was PC DOs as per him.
Then he asked career history of Mr. Dell of Dell computers.
Then asked career history of 5 entrepreneurs from silicon valley whose names I had never heard.
Then asked me ur icon of software. I said Narayan murthy then was asked of his recent controversy ur views his reactions, his previous company when Infosys started where it started how many people started? was able to answer all that.

Most weird question: Fifteen years ago a guy had same qualification of urs, he too wanted to do an mba; did an mba and he went on to become a corporate giant.And he is not an indian. Name the person? again dont know ans:steve jobs(silicon valley guy again)

Then if u got to start a business in software which domains would u choose? convinced

Comment on SAP.

Comment: AMD giving Intel run for its money?

Finally, Then asked me why mba? is it required ,initially there was no mba and...Convinced him was happy at last.

The real problem was he was giving marks in front of me and he started like 4 ,2 rest he didnt give in front of me.

Had my GDPI on 22d in JB.
GD topics:
1. Sting operations - should they be banned?
2. Management v/s Administration

We went for the first topic. Only 7 out of 12 were present. and in this 6 were good speakers. It was getting very difficult to put points across as people were contiously speaking. Also some of tem taught speaing too much will give good marks and kept on speaking. The topic was diverted. I spoke 3 times but coudnt put down a lot of points. Finally each one of us were asked to conclude in one sentence. I didnt expect my GD to be that bad.

But worse was coming. In the PI there were two ladies. One was always smiling, other was always very serious and generally rude. No questions on work-ex or acads or GK.
Questions like why you choose civil engineering, wy have you resigned from job, why you joined a particlualr college. The rude lady wa making her own comments on the answers. What are the things effecting Indian economy? What is security according to me?
Finally her answer that security comes from within and we Indians are more secure since we have a good culture as our roots.
Didnt expct such PI and dont kow what score to expect after this.

Our topics were:
1] Liberalised Educaion in India
2] Do teachers adopt 'mentoring' approach?

We selected the 2nd topic....& i started with the discussion...GD was too good...I spoke about who exactly a teacher & mentor is & the difference between the two..then i spoke about the recent example in UP where the teacher had a second marriage with his own student & how he was insulted by the other students...etc etc.

My PI was also good because I was asked very general questions about myself...my family background...my subjects in BMS...a lil related to finance [i.e IPO's & FPO's]...& the event that i mentioned i.e Bharat Nirman & its details...thats it...guess was lucky enough...

I just hope it all turns out to be good....Amen.

2) Flexible working hours should be permited to employees..

well we have selected 2nd one.. our gd was quite good its not like a fish market.. i have entre 3 times in the discussion.. well about PI they are totally asking on the bases of GK. some of the question are

who is the businness minister,
who is the vice president of india,
who is the mayor of mumbai,
who is the best tennis player,
next olympic is in?? and place??
Some question relating to commerce accounting level
and many more question relating to sports and on the country..

what is scope if u r not getting admission this year for mba what will u gona do??? y cet only cet is given not cat or any other entrance exams??

They start with so Gently bt they will screw you up in the end. basically wht is have feels personally they want to test your stress level... so jus chill off and give answers..

the gdpi was as chill as it can get.....
gd topics were : 1.paperless organisation is a myth
2.wisdom cannot be inherited.
out of 12 ppl 10 opted for 1st topic ...including me....

the gd was good....no fish market...only once the panel interrupted coz of 2-3 guys speaking simultaneosly....
overall it was fantastic

abt pi.....nvr seen such a cool panel.....all questions revolved around the questionaire.....not at all grilling....all n all wonderful experience...all the best guys...do well...
