IIM interview panels typically assess four broad areas:

• Awareness of current affairs and business environment

• Personality traits such as confidence, honesty, and communication

Questions are often based on a candidate’s background, work experience, academic choices, and stated goals. Panels are less interested in memorised answers and more interested in how candidates think and respond under pressure.
