NMAT 2025 Exam Pattern: Structure and Scoring

The NMAT test has three different sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning. Each of the three sections has 36 questions, which add up to 108 questions for the entire test, having a total test duration of 120 minutes. The total score range for NMAT is 36-360, with a score range of 12-120 for each section. Calculators are not allowed during the NMAT test.

For each of the 36 questions in this section, you have 52 minutes. Important sections include Arithmetic (Numbers, Percentages, Ratio and proportion, Averages, Time, work and partnership, Simple and compound interest, Integers, LCM & HCF), Modern Math (Permutation and combination, Coordinate geometry, Set theory, Probability, Progression arithmetic, Geometric, Harmonic, Relationship, Venn diagrams), Algebra (Equations, Inequalities, Absolute value, Quadratic equations, Linear equations, Logarithm), and Data Interpretation (Line graphs, Bar charts, Pie charts, Tables). Importantly, in contrast to other MBA entrance exams, Geometry is NOT included in the NMAT quantitative skills curriculum.

• Logical Reasoning Section: This section tests your critical and analytical thinking skills, where you need to analyze arguments and make conclusions. You have 40 minutes in which to complete the 36 questions. It is segregated into Analytical Reasoning (Classification, Syllogisms, Coding and decoding, Symbol-based questions, Blood relation questions, Matrix type questions, Series and direction questions, Linear and circular arrangements, Alphabet questions) and Verbal Reasoning (Critical reasoning, Decision making, Course of action, Statement and inference questions, Statement and assumption questions, Statement and argument questions).

Preparation for NMAT 2025

In order to prepare thoroughly for NMAT 2025, it is important to improve all three sections: Language Skills, Quantitative Skills, and Logical Reasoning.
