The Famous Case Study: Flipkart's 2016 Deferrals

Body

In order to show how brand isn't everything, let's go back to a famous MBA case study:

Flipkart in 2016 recruited students from IIMs, ISB, and XLRI, and subsequently delayed the join dates of many students by more than six months because of a funding problem. There was huge outrage.

Students lost income for months.

Institutes responded strongly: Policies were altered—many B-schools now impose tougher norms for recruiters, with penalties for delaying job offers.

The lesson? Despite an IIM tag, market factors outside your control may spoil your plans. The actual safety net depends on how effective the placement cell and policies protecting students are.

yes, there should be rigorous action taken against such companies, be it a MNC or a regional company.
