Anyone with a 7 in their profile who made it to old IIMs?

Body

  • acads (10/12/grad)

  • CAT %ile

  • work ex / fresher

  • calls & converts

Also, did your acads come up a lot in interviews? Just trying to understand how realistic it is vs what people say here.

    Profile: 7/8/7 | 99.72 %ile | Commerce feale | 12 months work-ex.

Converts: IIM Lucknow & IIM Indore (Shocking, I know).

Interview Experience: At Lucknow, the very first question was, "What happened in your undergrad?" I owned up to it, explained my focus shift toward professional accounting, and steered the conversation to corporate tax. Don't defend it defensively; just explain it and move on.

    Profile: 8/8/7 | 99.4 %ile | Science Graduate | 18 months work-ex.

Converts: IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore.

Interview Experience: Indore usually loves 9/9/9 profiles, but my high CAT score combined with the graduation diversity factor pulled me through the final composite score calculation. The interview itself was purely based on current affairs and core physics.

    Profile: 7/7/8 | 98.9 %ile | Non-Engineer Female (Arts) | Fresher.

Converts: IIM Bangalore & IIM Kozhikode.

Interview Experience: Bangalore grilled me on why my 10th and 12th dropped, but my graduation diversity and a killer SOP saved me. If you have academic diversity, a 7 won't kill your chances as much as it does for a GEM.

    Profile: 9/7/7 | 99.88 %ile | GEM | 24 months work-ex.

Converts: IIM Calcutta & IIM Lucknow.

Interview Experience: Honestly, Calcutta didn't care about the 7s because their shortlisting weight is heavily skewed toward the CAT score. The interview was 90% engineering academics and macroeconomics. It is absolutely realistic if you smash the exam.
