If you are planning to do an MBA, you have probably heard about CAT and XAT. Both are popular MBA entrance exams, but they are not exactly the same. So, which one should you prepare for?

What is the difference between CAT and XAT?

CAT vs XAT: Exam Pattern

The recent CAT format has three sections; VARC, DILR and QA with 40 minutes for each section. Candidates cannot move to another section while a section is running. The 2026 CAT paper is scheduled for November 29, 2026.

XAT 2026 has two parts. Part 1 has VA & LR, Decision Making and QA & DI for 170 minutes. Part 2 has General Knowledge for 10 minutes. XAT 2026 has 95 questions in total.

Is CAT easier than XAT?
