• English Proficiency Test (TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, Duolingo) – required if your degree wasn’t taught in English.

• Essays (2025 intake):

• Short Answer: Career goal (50 characters max).

• Essay 1: Immediate and long-term career goals, and how CBS helps (500 words).

• Essay 2: Why is now the right time for you to pursue an MBA? (300 words).

• Essay 3: Your fit with CBS’s culture and community (250 words).

• Recommendation Letters – 1 professional recommendation (ideally a supervisor).

• Application Fee – $250 (non-refundable).

2. Deadlines & Rolling Admissions

Unlike most schools, Columbia has rolling admissions and offers two intakes:

• January Term (J-Term):

• Starts in January.

• 16-month accelerated program (no internship).

• Best for candidates returning to family business, entrepreneurship, or sponsored by employers.

• August Term (Regular MBA):

• Starts in August, 2-year format with internship.

• Standard MBA path for career switchers and international students.
