FAANG after MBA : amazon and Microsoft

Body

FAANG companies, only Amazon is a regular recruiter across top B-schools. Google shows up on and off at a few campuses. Apart from these, Microsoft actually has a dedicated B-school hiring program. Apple also visits a very few campuses, where the package goes up to ₹80 lakhs CTC with around ₹30 lakhs fixed.

  • Eligibility Filters: Amazon’s AFBP remains heavily skewed toward tech-native profiles (CS/IT grads or prior tech experience). In contrast, Microsoft shows greater flexibility, often targeting specific campuses like IIM Lucknow and IIM Mumbai for their SCPM roles without rigid technical prerequisites.

  • Vesting & Cash Flow: Both companies utilize a long-term vesting schedule for RSUs. Amazon pays the sign-on bonus monthly throughout the year, whereas understanding the variable component payout at Microsoft is crucial for planning your annual cash flow.

RSU vesting is the real silent killer in these offers. People see 53L and forget it takes 4 years to actually realize that amount. Thanks for breaking this down

The fixed component at Microsoft is significantly better than Amazon’s, which helps a lot with monthly take-home pay. That sign-on bonus at Amazon is huge but it's a one-time thing

Amazon's AFBP is definitely a steeper climb if you don't have that tech background. It’s interesting to see how Microsoft opens the door a bit wider for non-tech folks.
