If PM is your end goal, you should look beyond just IIMs. SPJIMR, ISB (1 year), and even MDI or NITIE (now IIM Mumbai) have strong links to product companies. IIM B and C might give you an edge if you position your digital background well and crack the WAT-PI with product-centric answers. IIMs typically don't "train" you for PM, but they open the doors. CAT score-wise, aim for 99.6+ for A/B/C, and 98.5+ for K/L/I. And yes, your profile has potential if you package it well!

Hey! I had a similar profile (7/7/7.5) and 2 years of experience in a startup’s marketing team. You can definitely get calls from BLACKI if you score well in CAT. However, for IIM A and B, you'll likely need 99.7+ percentile due to the academic scores. IIM K and I are more lenient and can shortlist at 98-98.5 percentile. Also, your digital marketing experience is relevant for PM roles, especially if you highlight product thinking, customer behavior insights, and A/B testing exposure during interviews.

You should target IIM Kozhikode and IIM Indore specifically, both are great for non-engineers and provide solid pathways to PM roles. IIM K has a few electives and decent product/networking opportunities. But remember, IIMs are not the only PM path. Post-MBA, you’ll need to hustle a lot for PM roles, network smartly, and maybe start with APM or Product Analyst roles. Try to get a CAT percentile above 98.7 for safety. Aim higher, but don't stress if it's not BLACKI, SPJIMR, IIT-B, and ISB are good PM routes too.
