CAT2025

Is it possible to prepare for CAT in 4 to 5 months and still get a 99 plus percentile?

Body

Please help me out here, I am starting from scratch and wanted to know if half an year's preparation is enough to convert, like IIMs?

Don’t compare yourself with 1-year droppers. In 4–5 months, your goal is to maximize efficiency revise concepts fast, attempt quality sectional tests, and build a realistic mock strategy by September.

I started in August while working full-time. Used early mornings and weekends for prep. Gave 25 mocks in total. Made a habit of reading The Hindu editorials + solving QA every single day. Consistency > duration.

Yes, it’s very much possible if you’re consistent. I started in July and scored 99.3. Gave 40+ mocks, practiced 2-3 hours daily, and had a strict weekly plan. Focus on your weak sections first and build from there. It depends on your base level. If your quant is decent and you’re okay with English, you can make it. But don’t waste time over-researching, stick to one material (CATKing/CL) and start giving mocks early.
