I have been giving CAT mocks, and VARC is consistently killing my score. No matter what I try, my percentile does not move beyond 40-50 in that section. People told me XAT has a different RC/decision-making style, but does that actually make it better or even harder? I do not know if shifting my focus will help or just make things worse. Any suggestions

XAT VARC is a bit different from CAT, RCs are trickier in inference but shorter, and DM is all about reasoning/ethics, not language speed. Many who struggle in CAT VARC actually do better in XAT because it rewards logical thinking over fast reading.
If CAT VARC keeps you at 40-50%, don’t panic just tweak prep: focus on XAT-style RCs, practice DM questions, and get comfortable with inference-heavy passages. Weak CAT VARC doesn’t mean you’ll fail XAT; the style might actually suit you better.
