NIBM Pune Admission Process 2026

The National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM), Pune offers a flagship PGDM in Banking and Financial Services (BFSI) program. Admissions for the 2026-28 batch are primarily based on entrance exam scores followed by interviews and profile evaluation.

1. Accepted Entrance Exams

For the 2026 intake, NIBM accepts only:

  • Common Admission Test (CAT 2025)

  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

GMAT scores are converted to CAT-equivalent scores for shortlisting.

2. Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

  • Final-year students can also apply.

3. Expected Cutoff (Shortlisting Stage)

Indicative CAT percentile thresholds:

  • General: ~80 percentile

  • NC-OBC / EWS: ~70 percentile

  • SC: ~65 percentile

  • ST / PwD: ~55 percentile

Note: Actual cutoffs may go higher depending on applications received.

4. Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates go through multiple evaluation stages:

  • Oral Communication Test (OCT)

  • Personal Interview (PI)

  • Profile evaluation (academics, work experience, extracurriculars)

Weightage used in final selection:

Component Weightage
CAT/GMAT Score 35%
Academics 25%
Personal Interview 25%
Oral Communication Test 10%
Work experience / extracurriculars 5%

 

5. Interview Cities

Offline interviews are typically conducted in:

  • Mumbai

  • Pune

  • Delhi

  • Bengaluru

  • Kolkata

  • Lucknow

6. Important Dates (Approx.)

  • Application window: Nov 2025 - 20 March 2026

  • Interviews: April-May 2026

  • Final results: May/June 2026

  • Program start: July 2026

7. Fees (Approx.)

Total program cost for the PGDM BFSI is around ₹17-18 lakh for two years, including hostel and other charges.
