Non Engineers CAT quantitative aptitude

Body

I’m not from a maths background and my basics are weak. How do I build my Quant skills for CAT from scratch, and what’s a realistic study plan to cover Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Modern Math without getting overwhelmed?

Honestly, coming from an engineering background, Quant was my comfort zone, but I know that’s not the case for everyone. The main thing is not to rush. If your basics are weak, start with Arun Sharma’s Quant book. Don’t jump into mocks right away. Break down topics, do Arithmetic first, then Algebra, Geometry, and Modern Math last. Set a fixed number of questions or concepts per day (not hours, but actual output). Don’t skip the basics: percentage, ratio, averages, and equations form the backbone of most CAT Quant questions. Highly recommend using a course or video series if you’re struggling alone. And be patient with yourself, you’re building a base that will pay off in the last few months.
