SCMHRD Core vs. JBIMS MSc Finance: High ROI vs. Flagship Brand?

Body

converted scmhrd core but the fees is around 30lakhs and also heard that consulting and finance isnโ€™t that good in scmhrd

currently gave mh cet and iโ€™m pretty sure of getting more than 99.8+ and if i got 99.99 then iโ€™ll go for jbims mms but if i land below it, should i choose jbims msc finance over scmhrd as msc finance fees is around 8L and the avg placement is around 18L.

Guide me guys!

Honestly, you're in a great spot. If you crack that 99.99 percentile on the CET, your decision is instantly madeโ€”you head straight to JBIMS MMS. But if you land in that 99.8+ bracket, sit down and evaluate your financial risk tolerance. If you are entirely self-funded or debt-averse, saving nearly 17-20 lakhs in tuition fees by picking the MSc Finance track will give you incredible peace of mind and immediate financial freedom post-graduation, even if the absolute ceiling of your initial placement is slightly lower than SCMHRD's top marketing or HR offers.

Keep in mind that MSc Finance does not go through the same standard corporate placement pool as the flagship JBIMS MMS program. While the "Bajaj" brand name carries an elite tag across Dalal Street and brings top-tier financial firms to campus, the absolute highest packages and core front-end investment banking profiles are still predominantly offered to the MMS batch. The MSc batch gets excellent niche finance, credit rating, and corporate treasury roles, but know that you won't be treated identically to the MMS students by every incoming recruiter.

JBIMS MSc Finance is a highly specialized, technically rigorous program with a microscopic batch size of around 40 students. You will be competing directly with sharp engineering minds and finance enthusiasts for front-end investment banking, valuation, and risk roles

SCMHRD Core is a general management MBA. If you aren't completely sure about dedicating your entire career strictly to hard finance, SCMHRD leaves corporate doors open for other domains.

If your primary goal is Finance, this is a no-brainer. JBIMS MSc Finance at an 8L fee with an 18L average offers a phenomenal ROI. SCMHRD is a phenomenal tier-1.5 school, but its flagship strength is heavily anchored in Human Resources. While their Sales & Marketing holds up well, the Finance domain averages around 19.6 LPA, and you'd be carrying a hefty 25L+ education loan. Taking on massive debt for a specialization that isn't the institute's primary forte is a major risk.
