The SNAP GEPI process is designed to evaluate your communication skills, clarity of thought, leadership traits, awareness of current affairs, and decision-making ability.
Step 1: Audio-Visual Group Discussion (AVGD)
Duration: ~15 minutes (2 minutes thinking + 13 minutes discussion)
Participants: 8-9 candidates
Panelists: 2
In this round, candidates are shown a visual stimulus (image or scenario) related to social, economic, or global issues. You are expected to interpret the image and discuss its implications logically.
Common themes include:
• Social inequality and child welfare
• Science vs religion
• Infrastructure and development
• Climate change and sustainability
• Technology and society
This round tests your observation skills, perspective, and ability to articulate ideas clearly.
Step 2: Group Discussion (GD)
Duration: ~10 minutes
Participants: 7-8 candidates
Panelists: 2
Candidates are given a topic usually based on current national or global issues and asked to discuss it as a group.
Typical GD topics include:
• Relevance of international institutions
• Economic reforms and subsidies
• Industrial vs IT sector growth
• One-world government concept
• Demonetization and black money
• Public policy and governance
Focus is on logical reasoning, teamwork, leadership, and respectful debate.
Step 3: Personal Interview (PI) & Extempore
Duration: ~15 minutes
Panelists: 2-3
This round evaluates your motivation for MBA, career clarity, personality, and general awareness.
You may be asked to speak extempore on an abstract or current topic for 1-2 minutes.
Common interview areas:
• Academics and background
• Why MBA and career goals
• Leadership experiences
• Knowledge of SIBM
• Work experience (if any)
• Hobbies and interests
Extempore topics often cover business, economy, governance, or abstract themes.
