TISS Mumbai HRM & LR Placement Report 2026: Highest Package Reaches ₹66 LPA

Body

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai, has officially released the final placement statistics for its flagship M.A. in Human Resources Management & Labour Relations (HRM & LR), Batch of 2024-26. Despite global market fluctuations, TISS Mumbai continues to dominate the HR domain, offering placements that rival the top three IIMs.

Key Placement Highlights (2024-2026)

The 2026 placement season saw a surge in high-value offers, particularly within the consulting and FMCG sectors.

  • Highest CTC: ₹66.0 LPA

  • Average CTC: ₹28.69 LPA

  • Median CTC: ₹28.0 LPA

  • Top 30% Average: ₹49.75 LPA

  • Top 50% Average: ₹35.20 LPA

Batch & Academic Profile: A Fresher-Heavy Powerhouse

One of the most notable aspects of the TISS 2024-26 batch is its composition. Unlike many other premier B-schools that lean heavily toward experienced professionals, TISS remains a land of opportunity for newcomers.

  • 88% Freshers: Highlighting that TISS values raw potential and academic excellence over years of work experience.

  • 100% Placement Record: Maintaining its streak of ensuring every student finds a place in the corporate world.

Sector-Wise Recruitment Trends

The recruitment drive was well-diversified, ensuring students had opportunities across various industries:

  • FMCG/FMCD (20.8%): The largest recruiting sector, led by industry giants.

  • Consulting (17.6%): Strategic HR roles in top-tier firms.

  • BFSI (14.7%): Robust participation from banking and fintech leaders.

  • Conglomerates (14.7%): Diversified roles in India’s largest business houses.

  • Others: Significant intake from IT/ITES, Manufacturing (8.8%), and specialized services.

Prominent Recruiters

The "Who's Who" of the corporate world visited the TISS Mumbai campus this year. Key recruiters included:

  • Consulting: Aon, EY, Deloitte.

  • Conglomerates: TAS (Tata Administrative Services), Aditya Birla Group.

  • Tech & FinTech: Citi, CRED, Google.

  • FMCG: P&G, HUL, Nestlé.

For those targeting XAT 2027 or considering a shift toward HR, TISS Mumbai remains the undisputed leader. With a fee structure significantly lower than private B-schools and a median package of ₹28.0 LPA, the ROI at TISS is currently the best in the country.

If you are a fresher (like 88% of this batch), TISS Mumbai should be your top priority. The lack of work experience is not a barrier here; in fact, it's often the norm.

₹66 LPA highest package is massive, but the Top 30% average (₹49.75 LPA) is what really stands out. That’s at par with (or even higher than) the HR cohorts at IIM Ranchi or MDI. For anyone debating between a general MBA and TISS HRM & LR, these 2026 stats make a very strong case for specialization

Absolutely insane ROI. When you compare the fee structure of TISS (which is a fraction of the Top IIMs) with a Median CTC of ₹28 LPA, it’s arguably the best deal in Indian management education right now. Especially seeing 88% freshers in the batch this is a huge win for students going straight from undergrad
