The "Top 250" Percentile Trend
With a low fee structure (approx. ₹40,000 - ₹1 Lakh total) and an average package touching ₹13-14 LPA, competition this year has been brutal.
Selection Criteria Reminder: * CAT Score: 85% weightage

Group Discussion: 7.5% weightage

Personal Interview: 7.5% weightage
Because the CAT score carries a massive 85% weight, your rank is highly sensitive to your percentile. For the General category, the "Safe Zone" for the first 200–250 ranks usually hovers between 91 to 96+ percentile.

Big congrats to the converts! Remember, for UBS, if you get a seat in IB or HR and really wanted General, keep an eye on the internal sliding rules. Sometimes seats open up during the second day of counseling

Rank 310 here with 89.4 percentile. Do I have any chance for MBA General or should I bank on HR/IB? Historically, does the waitlist move 100+ seats for the general category?

It’s interesting to see how much the 85% weightage favors high CAT scorers. I’ve seen people with 98 percentiles and average interviews getting top 20 ranks, while 90 percentilers with great interviews are struggling around rank 250

"For those coming for counseling on the 8th the campus is beautiful but Panjab University is huge. Make sure you reach the 'University Business School' building (near the Arts Block) at least 30 mins early. Chandigarh weather is peaking, stay hydrated
