would you be okay with your company tracking this?

Body

The J.P. Morgan situation is a fascinating, if slightly unsettling, case study in modern corporate "wellness." Essentially, they are trying to fix a real problem junior bankers working 100+ hour weeks and burning out by using a "Big Brother" solution

The bank claims it’s about awareness, comparing your "digital footprint" (keystrokes, meetings, Zoom calls) against your reported hours to see if you’re secretly drowning in work. However, there's a thin line between "we care about your sleep" and "we are watching every click you make." In a high-pressure environment like a Bulge Bracket bank, this can easily feel like just another metric to game

Calling keystroke logging a 'wellness tool' is some top-tier PR gymnastics. If the goal is actually reducing burnout, they’d focus on the volume of deliverables being requested by MDs at 2 AM, not whether I’m typing fast enough at 9 AM. It feels like they’re just automating the 'eyes on' management style.
