GMAT Focus Edition Target Scores for Top Indian B-Schools:

Body

  • The Scaling Reality: A GMAT FE score of 655 sits in the 93rd percentile, matching the competitive weight of a 710 or 720 on the old Classic exam. Scoring above a 665 places you in the top tier of candidates.

  • Beyond the Score: For these specific residential 1-year programs, your leadership journey, quality of corporate experience, and interview performance weigh just as heavily as your test results.

Are these executive programs open to freshers if they score extremely high on the Focus Edition, say a 705?

I've got a 615 on my first GMAT Focus attempt. My profile is strong with 6 years in public infrastructure management. Should I retake the test if my target is IIM Lucknow or IIM Indore?

Thanks for sharing this breakdown! Quick question is the work experience criteria absolute? I will complete exactly 3 years and 10 months of experience by the time IIM Ahmedabad's PGPX program starts. Can I still apply, or is it a hard filter?

IIMA enforces a strict minimum of 48 months (4 years) of full-time work experience calculated as of their specified cut-off date (usually March 31st of the intake year). If you fall short by even two months, the application portal will automatically flag you as ineligible. It is safer to target programs like IIM Kozhikode's PGP-BL or ISB's PGP where your tenure aligns perfectly.
