IIFT 2026: The Beast of Case Competitions and the Reality of ₹6L Stipends

Body

IIFTians aren't just getting placed; they are winning the room before the interview even starts. From Flipkart Wired to Tata Steel-A-Thon, being a National Winner isn't just a CV point it’s proof of the "guts" it takes to solve a real-world business problem under pressure. While the MBA-IB batch continues to lead in trade and marketing (34%), the MBA-BA wing is rapidly carving its own niche with a ₹1.42L average stipend in its early years.

The MBA path often tricks us into thinking it’s all about the "Average CTC" spreadsheet. In reality, the students on that "Wall of Fame" prove that B-school is about persistence. They didn't just study a case; they became one. Whether it’s Finance, Consulting, or Analytics, these numbers show that IIFT remains a Tier-1 "beast" that competes head-to-head with the top IIMs.

₹6 Lakhs for 2 months is basically a down payment on the first-year fees. But for the 90% who aren't at the 'Highest' mark, the ₹2.50L median is the real baseline to look at when calculating your loan repayment

Interesting to see the MBA-BA distribution. 16% in IT/Analytics is expected, but the 34% in Sales & Marketing shows that even data students are being hired for 'Growth' roles. The lines are blurring

That Wall of Fame is insane. Winning Flipkart Wired and Tata Steel-A-Thon in the same cycle? It shows that IIFT’s curriculum actually prepares you for the 'hustle' of competitions, not just exams
