IIT Bombay (SJMSoM) Final Placements 2026

Body

Segmented Median CTC

These figures are particularly impressive as they show that even the "bottom" half of the top 75% is clearing the 30 LPA mark.

  • Top 25% Median: 33.36 LPA

  • Top 50% Median: 32.00 LPA

  • Top 75% Median: 30.95 LPA

Consulting and IT/E-Commerce continue to be the biggest magnets for IIT Bombay grads, likely due to the strong engineering backgrounds of the batch.

  • Consulting: 26%

  • E-Commerce & IT: 26%

  • BFSI & Conglomerates: 21%

  • Pharma & Others: 16%

  • FMCG / FMCD: 11%

With a total fee of roughly 16 Lakhs, a median CTC of 26 LPA makes SJMSoM arguably the best value-for-money MBA in India right now. Unlike the IIMs where fees have touched 25-28 Lakhs, your "payback period" here is less than a year.

Batch Size Advantage: Placing 126 students is a vastly different ballgame than placing 500-600 at an IIM. This allows IIT Bombay to maintain a high "salary floor," ensuring that almost no one is left with a sub-par package.

That 98.87 median CAT percentile is the real deal. It’s essentially as competitive as IIM Bangalore or Calcutta. If you’re a non-engineer, getting into this 126-member batch is the ultimate flex

People chase the IIM tag, but the real ones know SJMSoM is the king of ROI. Where else do you get a 26L median with IIT Bombay's tech culture and alumni network? This is the definition of efficiency
