Is Mental Health the Most Ignored Part of CAT Prep?

Body

When we talk about CAT prep, it’s always mocks, strategies, shortcuts, and percentile targets. But what rarely gets spoken about is the toll it takes on your head.

The stress, peer pressure, and constant self-doubt hit harder than most of us expect. It’s not just about solving 100 questions a day, it’s about handling the days when you don’t feel like opening your books, or when one bad mock shakes your confidence completely.

I feel a lot of aspirants burn out not because they lack ability, but because they don’t pay attention to their mental health during prep. Simple things, taking breaks without guilt, not comparing your journey with others, or even talking to someone when it gets overwhelming, can make a huge difference.

CAT is as much about mindset as it is about aptitude. If your head isn’t in the right space, no amount of formulas or mock drills will save you on D-day.

So yeah, strategy is important, but taking care of yourself is equally non-negotiable. Don’t ignore that part.
