Major Changes In CAT examination-

2020: Due to the pandemic, the exam was moderate to difficult, with a reduced duration of 120 minutes with a total of 76 questions.
2021: The difficulty level remained moderate, with a total of 66 questions.
2023: The paper was moderate to difficult, with an increase in the DILR section to 22 questions.
2024: The exam was moderate, with 68 questions and a continued emphasis on DILR.

CAT 2019 Section-wise Analysis (IIM Kozhikode) -

VARC
Reading Comprehension (RC): 5 passages, each with 5 questions, totaling 24 RC-based questions. Topics included British colonialism and folk culture.
Verbal Ability: Para-jumbles, Para-summary, Odd-one-out.
RC passages were lengthy and inference-based, requiring careful reading. Verbal Ability questions were tricky, with some options being very close, making them time-consuming.

DILR
Data Interpretation (DI): Radar charts, bar graphs, and tables.
Logical Reasoning (LR): Puzzles, seating arrangements, and logical deduction.
The section had 8 sets, with 3-4 sets being manageable for most candidates. Some sets were time-consuming and required analytical thinking

QA
Arithmetic: Percentages, Time-Speed-Distance, Time and Work.
Algebra: Linear and quadratic equations.
Geometry and Mensuration: Basic geometry concepts.
The section had a balanced mix of topics, with a higher emphasis on Arithmetic. Questions were straightforward but required quick calculations.
