I am a CAT 2025 aspirant and just found out that IIM Kozhikode is going to be setting the paper this year and honestly, I am both curious and anxious. Do you guys think they will throw in any surprises?

IIM-K being the paper setter might mean a focus on diversity and lateral thinking. They have always had a unique selection profile too, so maybe the paper would not just reward engineers or math-heavy backgrounds. I am betting VARC and DILR will be more logic- and comprehension-driven than formula-based. So, this could be a good year for people who are not hardcore quants folks.

IIM Kozhikode setting CAT 2025 is quite interesting. If we go by past trends, IIM-K has a history of setting slightly unconventional papers. In 2019, when they set the paper last, the VARC section was tougher and a bit unpredictable.

Honestly, I am a bit nervous knowing IIM Kozhikode is setting the paper. I have read that they sometimes make DILR really tricky and calculation-heavy. As someone who has not done math in a while, I am planning to spend more time on LRDI strategy and not rely just on speed.

I have already started adjusting my prep strategy ever since I heard IIM-K will be setting CAT 2025. When they set CAT 2019, VARC had quite abstract passages, one was even about metaphysics!

Tbh, IIM Kozhikode setting CAT is equal to chaos. If you are banking on the typical LRDI pattern, just know that IIM-K has thrown curveballs before. Like, in 2019, the LRDI section was not purely DI or purely LR, it was a weird hybrid. And nothing was straightforward. If that is whats coming in 2025, then we better get used to ambiguity and learn to leave questions quickly.
