What's the best way to prep for VARC ? for someone who is not a avid reader.....

Body

Unlike DILR and QA, I struggle a lot with VARC probably because there is no syllabus to start with or a proper roadmap to follow. It feels like its purely based on our ability to read large and complex text in a short time and answer difficult questions with accuracy. I haven't read many books and found it very difficult to understand the passages in VARC. What's the trick to crack VARC for someone who has picked reading after a long time......

Ok so my approach was bit differnt, I started solving the practice RC everyday and forcing my brain to consume this large and complex text. And also maintaining a good pace. initially it was very difficult, but after 20-25's RC passage I started to get it. I started seeing a pattern. The answers had a pattern. I might not quite tell that why this is the answer but I just felt it. and most of the time it was the right answer. So you need to mould you brain to be comfortable with the process of solving RC questions

VARC prep doesn’t have to be boring. I read sports articles, movie reviews, and even Reddit threads, then moved to The Hindu editorials. It’s like building stamina , sports articles, movie reviews, and even Reddit threads, then moved to The Hindu editorials. Start with topics you like, then expand to the boring stuff because CAT will throw anything at you.

I didn’t try to suddenly become a bookworm. Instead, I solved 2-3 RC sets daily from past CAT papers and mocks. My accuracy improved just by analysing why I got answers wrong and noticing patterns in questions.

Honestly, I was never into reading novels or newspapers, so I started with short opinion articles and blogs. First 10 to 15 min in the morning, just reading and summarising in my own words. Gradually increased to editorials and RC passages. I think consistency matters more than starting with big, dense texts
