In need of some serious guidance

Body

M25, 8/7/6 profile, not an engineer, did my graduation, after that did my post graduation too.

Can anyone tell me that if I have any good chance in any good MBA college or it's over for me?

Please respond, I request everyone to.

Your PG can be a blessing, especially for institutes like SPJIMR, where clarity of goals and depth in academics or work are valued. I had a 9/7/6 profile and did my PG too. I worked on building my profile, had a focused story for ‘Why MBA’, and scored a 96.8 percentile. Converted SPJIMR. It’s all about playing your strengths. Don’t let academics define your whole journey, the game is still on if you’re ready to fight.

As someone who went through the CAP process this year, I can tell you it’s not just about 10/12/grad anymore. Sure, top IIMs prefer a clean profile, but the CAP IIMs (IIM Trichy, IIM Ranchi, etc.) and even IITs look at your overall fit. If you can show clarity in why you want to pursue an MBA after PG, and back it up with a solid CAT score (say 97+), you have a very real chance. Just focus on what you can control from now, your CAT prep and your interview readiness.

Bro, please don’t think it’s over. I’m M24, non-engineer too (B.Com + M.Com), and I’ve been facing the same self-doubt. But I’ve talked to seniors in IIMs and many said they’ve seen people with even 7/7/6 profiles crack top B-schools. You’ll have to be realistic but optimistic, maybe IIM ABC is tough, but IIMs like I, K, MDI, IITs, and even private colleges like IMT-G, TAPMI, or GIM are very much possible. Just make sure your CAT score, PI performance, and your ‘story’ are very strong. Don't give up.

Hey! I had a similar profile, 8/7/6 and I’m from a non-engineering background too (BA + MA). First of all, it’s definitely not over. Your academic scores might not be stellar, but B-schools like IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode, SPJIMR, MDI, and many others give weightage to diversity and work experience too. Your postgrad is an advantage, it shows academic continuity. Focus on scoring really well in CAT, say 98.5+ percentile. With that, and a well-written SOP + decent interview, you can still get into a top college.
