During your IIM K interview, did they question you on your academic background, or about your high VARC score, sir?

Sir how did you keep your accuracy in RCs consistent? I either get everything right or tank badly, no middle ground.

Since IIM Kozhikode is setting the paper for the CAT 2025, are there is chance that they'll change the paper pattern ?

IIMs don't possess an established tradition of significantly altering the paper format simply because a new institute sets it. Small adjustments (such as number of questions, mild difficulty level variation in sections, or type of DILR sets) can always be done, but large-scale changes (such as new sections, new marking scheme) are scarce because CAT must have standardization across years.
My advice: Prepare for the existing 68-question, 120-minute format. If changes come, they’ll usually be visible in the official CAT mock released by IIM-K. Don’t waste mental energy on speculation-master the current format, you’ll be ready for any variation.

VARC → Start with your comfort RC, don't do it in order. Try all VA (para jumbles, para summary, odd-one) since they're short and high accuracy potential. RC target: try 2–3 passages well, not all necessarily.

DILR → Finish reading all 4 sets in the initial 5-7 minutes. Choose the 2 easiest sets (tidy structure, not too calculation-based). Finish 2 sets with 90–95% accuracy → that's sufficient for 95+ percentile. Include a 3rd set if time allows.

QA → Avoid linear solving. Read and flag easy/medium in 10–12 minutes. 2 passes:
      (i) sitters + medium
(ii) tough but possible. Do not leave time-sinks.

Rule of thumb: Optimize accuracy, avoid blindly chasing attempts.

With 3 Months for CAT 2025, focus should be incremental:

First 15 days→ Form reading habit. 2 RCs daily + 30–40 mins reading from various sources (Aeon, The Guardian, Scientific American, Economic Times).  This enhances understanding + endurance.

Next 1 month → Daily VARC exercise: 3 RCs + 4–5 VA questions (para jumble, odd one, summary). Emphasis on precision, not quickness.

Last 1.5 months → Mock-specific VARC preparation. Practice trying 3 RCs in 30 minutes with time management. Allocate 10 mins for the VA section. Reduce the time bit-by bit. Improve pattern recognition: which passages to try, which to avoid.

Important tip: Monitor your accuracy trend → if your accuracy on RCs is <70%, don't ramp up attempts; first work on comprehension.
