What is the summer internship experience like at IIM Trichy? Like, will my undergrad or prior work experience impact shortlisting?

Hey Saashna, the SIPs are just starting and its been a topsy turvy rollercoaster so far. So many applications and so many resumes to make. It is fun definitely, and tiring (IDK). Your prior work experience and undergrad scores does matter, but it is different for every company. Trust me you will fit more than enough of them.

Hope this helped. Reach out to me if you need further help via whatsapp @ 8826082878.

Hey Aashu, there’s an old saying—cross the bridge when you get to it. Right now, your focus should be solely on getting a top score. If you feel your past academics don’t truly define you, then let your CAT score do the talking. Aim for a 99+ percentile and prove every single doubter wrong with your result. Apart from this yes it does come in your up in your interviews and even beyond that including MBA basics.

Once you smash that score, reach out to me, and I’ll personally guide you through the PI process.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ping me on WhatsApp at 8826082878 if you need any more support.

Great question Sahil, since I took more than 90 mocks during my time, I used almost all brands of study material and mock content. There is no point concentrating on one. There is always something to learn from each mock you take. Think of it like this, you are starting off from 20-25%tile and each mock adds another 1-2%tile. So I would also suggest to give atleast 50 mocks.

Hey Anirban, I totally understand you. It used to get on my nerves too. I remember scoring -3 a day before my CAT attempt. However you know what I never lost, trust on myself.
That being said, try to immerse yourself in more academic English content—both through reading and watching. This will naturally sharpen your comprehension. Additionally, make it a point to practice speed reading. A great tool to build this habit is Accelareader.

While tackling RCs, focus on transition words like however, but, while, etc. These often signal the author’s key opinions. Also, pay attention to any questions posed by the author—these sections are frequently the basis for RC questions. Another reliable approach is option elimination. It might seem basic, but it’s a highly effective technique when done methodically.

One more strategy you could try is the zoom-in tactic. For your next 5-7 mocks, focus on attempting just 1 RC and 2 VA questions, but aim for 100% accuracy. Ensure you nail all 6 questions without fail. You can even split the 4 RC questions between two shorter RCs if needed. This will give you ample time to analyze and read between the lines. Once you consistently achieve perfect accuracy in these 6 questions, gradually scale up to 8-10 questions while maintaining that accuracy.

Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out on WhatsApp at 8826082878 if you need any more guidance.

Hey Nidhi, there is a saying: Worry about crossing the bridge when get to the bank.

Concentrate on scoring well if you believe the poor academics are not a true reflection of you. Give a tight slap, by scoring 99%tile+, to everyone who doubted you ever. And reach out to me once you do that and then I will surely guide you through your PIs.

Hey Jamaal trust me I was just like you. First things first, have faith in yourself, that you can and you will achieve it. Secondly what I would suggest is following this pattern:
      1. For the next 5-7 mocks find the easiest and most doable set in the section. One, that is the important part. 1 set that you are 200% confident you can get all correct provided you give the whole 40 minutes to it. Even if you find 2 easy ones, make sure you choose only 1. Give the whole 40 minutes to it and get it 100% correct (all questions of that set). Once you get the hang of this after 5-7 mocks.
      Then,
      2. Start choosing 2 such sets with 100% accuracy for 5-7 mocks. And so on. Hope you understood the rest.

Apart from this try solving as many sets in a day as possible. The minimum should be 5.
Also start watching more analytical and logical content on youtube, like Think School, Modern MBA and so on. This will get you into the running to think more logically.

Hope this helped. Reach out to me if you need further help via whatsapp @ 8826082878.

Hey Bitan, that is a great question, I personally had the same when I started. Definitely do try and attempt at least 50 with rigorous (2hrs+) analysis. The analysis is more important than the mock itself.
Always think like an economist: The more the better. Also I took 90+ mocks with around 37 coming in the last November month, I do not suggest it though. Try to keep a track of the scores, you can use resources provided by CATKing for the same.
My logic is think of each mock and analysis adding around 1.5-2 %tile, assume you are starting from 20-25%tile. Reach out to me if you need further help via whatsapp @ 8826082878.

Hey Tanushree, I totally understand you. It used to get on my nerves too. I remember scoring -3 a day before my CAT attempt. However you know what I never lost, trust on myself.
That being said, try reading and watching more academically inclined content in English. Apart from that practice speed reading. Use: https://accelareader.com/ to build this habit.

Apart from this while reading the RCs, trying looking for words like however, but, while and so on. These are where the author clearly states his/her opinion. Also looks for where the author asks questions, these are the areas that are often used to create questions. Another great method is option elimination. I know it sounds standard and boring, but it works.

Finally you could use the zoom in tactic. For the next 5-7 mocks try attempting only 1 RC and 2 VAs but with 100% accuracy. Make sure you get this 100% accuracy in all 6 questions. You can also spread the 4 RC questions accross 2 RCs. This will give you more time to think and read between the lines. Once you have control over these 6 questions with 100% accuracy move to 8/10 questions with 100% accuracy and build it up accordingly.

Hope this helped. Reach out to me if you need further help via whatsapp @ 8826082878.
